CHS embraced the outdoors on Saturday 2 December, as it slept out under the stars at George Pateman Court to raise money for Railway House – its service located on Mill Road, which offers accommodation and support to 16-25 years olds in Cambridge.

The funding for Railway House has recently been cut by £15,000, which will massively impact existing and future tenants. The sleep out launched the campaign ‘Raise the Roof’ which aims to generate this gap in funding to ensure the service can continue to support vulnerable people to enable them to lead successful and independent lives.

The night saw CHS employees, local businesses and MPs rallying together to support Railway House, as well as restaurants on Mill Road lending rations of warm soup and hot drinks to keep participants fuelled. The sleep out raised £3,500, which has kick-started the Just Giving page and helped CHS get closer to its £15,000 target.

As the New Year approaches, CHS will continue to drive the Raise the Roof campaign forward, to gain momentum throughout the year and hit the donation target.
