Alex Wood House is a residential care home for older people situated in Arbury on the north eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the city centre. It is a well designed, purpose-built home with attractive gardens.
There are 36 single rooms, all with ensuite facilities to accommodate residents who are frail, elderly and may have a diagnosis of dementia. The facilities include a ground floor dementia unit, with a specialist team of staff dedicated to caring for and supporting these residents. The dementia unit is fully equipped for those who have higher support needs and benefits from a sensory room and a reminiscence room. The home offers a range of activities from singing groups, exercise classes and reading and gardening groups.
