What do mentor volunteers do?

Mentor volunteers are matched with young people who have experienced homelessness who have similar interests, hobbies, or skills. Social connections can be vital for people who have been homeless to help them stay off the streets. This role enables volunteers to offer more to help young people to make positive changes in their lives.

What will you get in return?

Volunteering with CHS will give you the chance to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in East Cambridgeshire.

You will get the chance to share your interests, hobbies, or skills with others, as well as gaining or developing skills in one-to-one relationship building and mentoring.

How can you apply to be a mentor volunteer?

To become a mentor volunteer, simply fill in our application form enclosed to tell us what skills, knowledge and experience you can bring to the role, as well as what skills you would like to share. We ask for two references from people who have known you for at least 12 months. It should take no more than 15 minutes to complete the application form.

We aim to get back to you within one month of receiving your application. If you are a suitable candidate then we will arrange an informal interview where we can find out more about you and you can find out more about the role.
