Employment Support
If you know someone living in Cambridge or South Cambridgeshire who has found it difficult to find work and who is not being supported by other employment support programmes, we may be able to help.
We provide free employment advice and coaching support to people who are unemployed or ‘economically inactive’ – for example, carers or people with disabilities or long term health conditions. We do it by working alongside people meeting them face to face and supporting them over a period of time to enable them to get on in life and back to work. Typically, people get a job through the service or start their journey back to work through work experience, traineeships, apprenticeships, training or learning. We are very well connected to other support services in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire and so also make sure that people are connected with other relevant organisations.
Our employment support service is part of a project called Community Connections South (CCS) which, like New Horizons, is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund. CCS is designed to improve employment opportunities for people who are furthest away from the labour market.
